With the use of the Janus motpages it is possible to change the menus of the m3188/m3688. Please read these pages, they must get the credit!

On the picture on the left you can see the clock and Engineering field options menu alive!

This is the M3688 version, please notice the O2 logo (to indicate that it is just a normal GSM)

On the picture on the right you can see the RX-level of the current Cell

This is the m3188 version, please notice the Ben logo

Attention, you will probably loose your warrenty after changing the menu structure or opening your phone, in that case I will not be responsible.

With early models it is possible to cutomize the menus with the following key sequence: [][][]xxx[]1[] with []=pause. Clickfor an overview of xxx. Later Motorolas do not have this capability, and therefore you should forget this “secret”.
The only way to modify the Motorola menus is via clone mode. See the procedure page what is needed for this mode and how to do it. The following models are tested by myself with positive results:
M3188, M3688, M3788, L7089 and D520.
The procedure probably works on the following phones also:
M3288, M3888, C520, V3688
