Impressions and conclusions:

  • The number of components is high and therefore the PCB of the diga is huge.
  • The Diga uses the 90CL301, a Philips Semiconductors 68k derivative. At the moment 9 out of 10 manufactures use a ARM7 core.
  • Miniaturization of this phone is minimal (e.g. the SAW filters).
  • One of the worst designs, later Philips PCC models (like the Xenium) are much better and absolutely not comparable with this brick.
  • It uses the large SIM form factor, indicating how old this design is. To use small form factor SIM cards in this phone. Please use plastic holder where small card are extracted from. Place some tape on the backside of this holder and push the card onto its place.
  • Users reported high sensetivity.
