Impressions and conclusions:- The CH388 is a nice phone for its age, even phones made today are worse than this in 1996 ago introduced phone.
- The CH388 uses a zero-if receiver, a lot of passive filters are used, something that is not necessary with modern near zero-if designs.
- The baseband design is from the pre ARM7 era.
- Battery life is (too) limited.
- Just a nice phone with many features, however looks old-fashioned even for its age.
- Many ASICs (application specific Integrated Circuit) are used.
- Stupid zebra strips are used to connect display microphone (!) and keyboard to the PCB.
- A backup battery is available for the RTC.
